Therap Services Donates Web-Based, Individual Support Documentation Services to Hurricane Victims

Applications Specifically Designed for Providers of Services to People with Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities

WATERBURY, Conn., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Warren S. Gifford, Ph.D., President of Therap Services, LLC, announced today that the company will donate two years of its individual support package of web-based services to providers in the MR/DD community affected by Hurricane Katrina. Therap's suite of web-based applications supports service providers, direct care staff, managers, health professionals, parents, and regulators in the mental retardation and developmental disability (MR/DD) community in effectively managing and accessing vital information about the individuals they serve.

"Any provider whose records are not currently web-based and protected will be facing the daunting task of reconstructing paper forms and records regarding the individuals they serve," said Gifford. "We welcome the opportunity to assist providers in quickly and efficiently setting up their individual support documentation on the Internet where caregivers have secure access from any computer with wireless, broadband, or dial-up."

Richard A. Robbins, Therap's Chairman, explained further, "Our management team recognizes that agencies in the federal disaster zone have a lot of critical issues to deal with now. By offering two years of free web-based services, including setup and training, we believe that people with MR/DD can quickly receive improved care. In addition, agencies and providers will not have to spend time or resources on equipment or backups." Providers who have been affected in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are encouraged to call (866) 843-7270.
