The Affiliated Delta Dental Plans of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana Donate $100,000 to Gulf Coast Hurricane Relief

OKEMOS, Mich., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The affiliated Delta Dental Plans of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana announced today that the tri-state corporation is donating $100,000 to the American Red Cross to aid in the disaster relief efforts in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

"The damage and the vast dimension of human suffering wrought by this natural disaster is beyond comprehension," said Delta Dental President and CEO Thomas J. Fleszar. "We hope our contribution can help the American Red Cross meet the immediate needs of our fellow citizens in the affected areas."

The check was presented today to the Mid-Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The Red Cross response to Hurricane Katrina is the largest response to a single, natural disaster in the 125-year history of the organization, providing emergency shelter, food, water, counseling and other assistance.
